Inventor & General Manager: Feng Jian (冯健)
This profile is one of four CNIPA design patents granted to Dezhou Jiasheng Rubber And Plastic Products Co., Ltd. in 2019. Mr. Feng is named as the sole designer on all four patent certificates.
Overview
The CTS variant replaces ETA's open pocket with a compact top-slot, ideal where chain lateral float must be minimised and headroom above the conveyor side is limited.
Design Principle
CTS narrows the pocket entry while retaining full pocket depth, producing a self-centring channel that captures the chain link more positively than ETA. The trade-off is slightly tighter chain-tolerance — CTS is the preferred profile when chain tracking is critical (curved conveyors, transfer points, indexing tables).
Verifiable Patent Credentials

Real-World Applications
Curved conveyor transitions
CTS's tight pocket prevents lateral chain throw on horizontal curves and inclined transitions where centrifugal force tries to derail the chain.
Indexing & dial tables
Precision-position assembly stations benefit from CTS's reduced lateral chain movement (≤ 0.3 mm vs 1.0 mm for ETA).
Compact packaging machinery
Low-headroom OEM machines (cartoners, case packers) where the conveyor side has 25-30 mm of vertical clearance use CTS to fit within the structural envelope.
Transfer points
Chain-to-belt and chain-to-chain transfer rails benefit from CTS's precise side guidance, eliminating product misalignment.
Why a Patented UHMWPE Profile vs Alternatives
| Solution | Engineering Performance Summary |
|---|---|
| UHMWPE patented profile (our solution) | Self-lubricating · 0.10-0.15 friction · Silent · 25,000-40,000 hr life · No grease · -50 to +80 °C |
| Generic UHMWPE flat strip | No chain pocket, requires external chain guides → assembly complexity, alignment errors |
| Steel side rails (greased) | Requires daily / weekly lubrication · 0.20-0.30 friction · Noisy · 5,000-8,000 hr life · Oil contamination · Energy +10 % |
| Stainless-steel side rails | 5-10× cost · Same friction issues · Heavier · Used only when hygiene mandates exclude polymer (rare) |
| PA6 cast nylon profile | Higher temperature (+120 °C) but absorbs moisture (swells), 2× friction of UHMWPE, shorter wear life |
| Phenolic / paper laminate | Brittle under impact, cannot absorb chain slap, obsolete technology in modern conveyor design |
Material — Verified 8.62 Million Mw UHMWPE
All patented profiles are machined from our in-house UHMWPE compound with verified molecular weight of 8.62 × 10⁶ Da (CTIC report no. CTICAAD39240944050802BR, ISO 1628-3 method). This molecular weight is at the high end of commercial UHMWPE grades and delivers the abrasion resistance, impact strength and low coefficient of friction that the patented geometry was designed to exploit.
- Tensile strength 32.8 MPa (SGS report TJIN2007009852MR_CN)
- Elongation at break 240 %
- Coefficient of friction (dry) 0.10 – 0.15
- Compressive yield ~ 22 MPa
- Service temperature -50 °C to +80 °C continuous
- FDA compliance 21 CFR 177.1520 (CTB220513031CX)
- RoHS 2011/65/EU 26-substance scan, all below detection (SCT-20141027-036N)
Frequently Asked Engineering Questions
What is the difference between CTS and ETA single-row profiles?
ETA is the general-purpose single-row guide with a wider, more forgiving chain pocket. CTS has a narrower top-slot that captures the chain more positively — choose CTS when chain tracking is critical or when the conveyor has tight curves, transfer points, or indexing requirements.
What chain pitches does CTS support?
CTS is stocked for ISO 08B-1 (12.7 mm), 10B-1 (15.875 mm), 12B-1 (19.05 mm) and 16B-1 (25.4 mm). Custom pitches available 20-30 days lead time.
Is CTS more expensive than ETA?
Same UHMWPE material, similar CNC labour — pricing is within 5 % of ETA. The CTS pocket requires tighter cutter tolerance which is the only cost difference.
Can CTS run mismatched chain (non-OEM)?
CTS pocket tolerance is +0.2 / -0.0 mm. Aftermarket chains with worn pins or stretched pitch may bind in the CTS pocket — use ETA for replacement / unknown chain lines.
What is the patent reference?
CNIPA design patent ZL 2019 3 0354737.7, certificate no. 5555773, inventor Feng Jian (冯健), granted 2019, valid through 2029.
Does CTS have the same wear life as ETA?
Identical — both are machined from the same 8.62 million Mw UHMWPE (CTIC verified). Expect 25,000-40,000 hours of dry running before pocket depth wears past acceptable limit.
How do I retrofit CTS into an existing line?
CTS shares the same base-width footprint as ETA (25 / 35 / 45 mm). If the existing mounting holes match, drop-in replacement is straightforward. Send us a section photo of the existing rail for confirmation.
Is CTS food-grade?
Yes — FDA 21 CFR 177.1520 compliant, identical material to ETA.
What lengths are stocked?
1000 / 2000 / 3000 / 4000 / 5000 / 6000 mm standard. Longer custom lengths available as paired butt-joined profiles.
How quickly can you ship?
7-15 days for stock profiles · 20-30 days for custom CNC. FOB Qingdao · 80+ countries · 4 continents.
